Group Therapy

Group therapy consists of face to face therapeutic contact with a substance abuse professional and additional peers.

Group sizes range from 3 to 9 clients.

The counseling sessions are designed to meet the specific needs of each individual client involved in the group, and focus on making significant behavioral change to reduce the negative effects of substance abuse.

The group format allows the client to receive additional feedback from peers as well as to hear additional positive responses to negative behaviors.

Mr. Rients prefers a cognitive-behavioral approach to counseling. This allows the client to determine the primary areas of need for change and to take ownership of the individual program.

Group sessions are generally 2 hours in length. The entire group counseling process last from 9 to 14 sessions, depending on the client's specific needs.
