Individual Therapy

Individual therapy consists of face to face therapeutic contact with a substance abuse professional.

The counseling sessions are designed to meet the specific needs of the individual client, and focus on making significant behavioral change to reduce the negative effects of substance use.

Mr. Rients prefers a cognitive-behavioral approach to counseling and uses a brief therapy model. This allows the client to determine the primary areas of need for change and take ownership of the individual program.

Individual sessions are generally 50 minutes in length. However, if a client is in need of more time, that will be allowed.

Using a brief therapy approach, the entire counseling process lasts from 6-12 sessions, depending on the client's specific needs and goals.
